Holy Week Homilies 2026

Palm Sunday

*In St. Matthew’s Gospel, the Apostle recounts for us the words spoken by the Lord Jesus right before He died on the Cross: “My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?” This sounds strange to our ears because we know and believe that Jesus IS God, the 2nd Person of the Most Holy Trinity, the beloved Son of the Eternal Father! In order to understand these words of the Lord, we must recognize that He was reciting the first line of Psalm 22–a Psalm that starts with suffering and ends in GLORY!
